We will never sell your personal information, although it may be shared from time to time, and only when necessary to perform a legitimate business function, including facilitate the business relationship between cab companies, car service providers, drivers, and riders.
Specifically, your information may be shared within our Cabscout network, via use of our website and mobile application, to: (1) allow cab companies and other car service providers to manage their drivers general business activities; (2) allow cab companies and other car service providers to manage their customers and payments; (3) allow drivers to manager their schedules; and (4) allow riders to select which cab company or other car service provider he/she wishes to use. By default, your information will be shared within the Cabscout network, however you may opt out of or limit the sharing of your information within the network through your account settings.
We may provide your personal information data that we have collected through our website or mobile application to third party service providers to help us deliver and/or promote products, information, correspondence, services, marketing, or other legitimate business functions as well as perform billing and payment activities (specifically, we use Stripe Billing for billing services). We will have a written agreement with each third party confirming on what basis they will use your personal information and we will ensure that there are adequate safeguards and processes in place to protect your personal data.
We also use Google® Maps to calculate distances between pick-up and drop-off locations. Any information inputted in to Google® Maps may be transmitted to Google’s servers, which are not in our control.
Additionally, we may be required by law to submit your personal information to law enforcement and/or a judicial or governmental authority pursuant to a subpoena or court order. We may also provide your personal information to law enforcement to cooperate with an investigation in to suspected illegal activities. Any such disclosures shall be made at our sole discretion and in good faith.
It is important to note that we have no control over a third-party’s privacy practices, including those governed by cab companies or other car service providers. We are not responsible for any breach of privacy resulting from any action or inaction by a third-party, whether intentional or otherwise.
In compliance with applicable U.S. laws and regulations, we keep your personal information data for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it has been collected. We may retain and use your data for future marketing or promotional purposes, in the event you have consented to us doing so.
It is important to us that your personal information is kept secure. Our website is provided through GoDaddy and is secured through a Secure Sockets Layer (“SSL”) Certificate, which ensures the security of data sent via the Internet using encryption. Our website also uses Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure, or “HTTPS,” to secure communications over the network.
We take precautions to protect your personal information however we cannot always guarantee the security of your personal information. Transmissions over wireless networks, including the Internet, can, at times, be defective, falsified, or tampered with. You acknowledge and agree that such circumstances are out of our control, and we cannot be held responsible or liable any limitation, failure, or breach of any transmission of your personal information over wireless networks.
